SHOW NOTES
👑 UPDATE (Oct 22): Prime Video renewed Carrie for Season 2, and it's going beyond the book. Enjoy our review of Eps 1-2 in the meantime 🎃 Horror TV is winning 😱 Let’s check in on the first halves of the two hottest scary shows this year: a Friday the 13th prequel and a brand-new Carrie. Crystal Lake (Peacock): the Friday the 13th prequel following Pamela Voorhees, with Linda Cardellini giving a performance that had Parker gripping his shirt. He ranked this show near the bottom of his Halloween hype list. That’s all changing. Carrie (Prime Video): Mike Flanagan rebuilds Stephen King's prom night nightmare as a YA series for actual high schoolers. Parker is a Carrie purist (the 1976 film sits in his Letterboxd top four), but Caroline and Ian are sold.
