ABOUT US

ONE FANATIC.
TWO CONVERTS.
ONE COUCH.

We started this pod in our NYC living room in 2019 because Parker wouldn't shut up about Scream, and Caroline couldn't even make it through the trailer for The Curse of La Llorona. The irl zombie apocalypse broke us up. But now we're back, with cameras and a new couch in our midwest doomsday shelter.

PARKER HERREN
JOURNALIST · CO-FOUNDER
Parker is an award-winning business and culture journalist and podcaster. He is currently Editorial Innovation Lead at Ad Age, and has also published work in Vice and Thrillist, among others. Caroline Hoyt
CAROLINE HOYT
EX-STAGE PERFORMER · CURRENT CORPORATE PERFORMER · CO-FOUNDER
Caroline is an opinionated thought leader and notable speaker who currently spends her days in the tech industry as a consultant. As a former dance artist, reformed theater kid, and chronic over-thinker she enjoys a good dissection of philosophical undertones, connecting the dots of thematic elements, and any kind of body horror where you can tell they hired dancers. When she's not giving hot takes on tech or scary movies she enjoys face-planting into her feline child, doom scrolling, and going on incredibly long walks in foreign countries.
Favorite: Wrong Turn (2021)

Ian Hoyt
IAN HOYT
CINEMATOGRAPHER · CO-FOUNDER
Ian is an award-winning cinematographer, allegedly, which is why every episode contains at least one unsolicited note about camera movement. He runs a video production agency and is a co-founder of What's Your Favorite Scary Movie, where his favorites are cults and psychological horror, which pairs nicely with his other interests: airplanes, the places they go, cats, and being extremely certain he would have seen through it.
Favorite: Black Swan
